![]() ![]() May his work somehow bring blessings to people who listen and can relate. Blessings to X's victims and family and baby. This is a hard subject to separate the artist from the art. It's coming up on a year in a couple of months and I really vibed with some of his music, and driving on the highway when my friend texted me he was dead is the first time I've had to face an artist I like as a musician being brutally murdered. I'm a little drunk, but to be frank his death hit me hard. Sometimes that's all we need in music during a given day.Īpologies in advance, I know this comment is kind of choppy and disjointed. ![]() It wasn't the best but it was raw and brimming with emotion. I think he had lots of raw talent in more areas than pure "rapping." I've battled depression and breakups so even though I'm not a "depressed teenager" I can relate to his music. SAD! I honestly think is a really good song. He was a piece of shit let's not kid ourselves, but at the same time it's frankly eerie to hear the music someone made mere months from being murdered in their hometown before their 21st birthday. X was the first artist to die while I was bumping their music at least randomly in my shuffle. I really hesitate to touch talking about X's music because of the controversy and quite honestly I feel weird. He explored a large range of sound on this project. ![]()
